Abstract

Peritoneal loose bodies (PLBs) are rare phenomena, primarily encountered during imaging studies, abdominal surgeries (open and laparotomy) or autopsies. Most are asymptomatic, requiring no specific treatment; although, life-threatening situations may arise on occasion. Herein, we describe a 52-year-old man subjected to exploratory laparotomy for a suspected intra-abdominal teratoma.
